Cervical disc herniation

Neck and arm pain, changes in sensation or strength.

A cervical disc herniation may cause neck pain, pain radiating into the arm, sensory change, or muscle weakness.

When evaluation is needed

  • Neck pain radiating into the arm
  • Numbness or reduced strength in the arm
  • Dizziness, walking instability, or other neurological symptoms

Approach

Evaluation includes a neurological examination and, when needed, MRI. The treatment plan is individual — from conservative care to surgical decompression.
